Some of the goals of art of landscape- Surprise, variety, concealment and the development of idyllic prospects. Hogarths serpentine line of beauty - manipulation of nature undulating contours - elimination of visual break betwwen garden and landscape.
Landscape design deals with surfaces, edges and joints, steps and ramps connecting specific difference in elevation, paving and drainage and all the decisions that have to be made before the project can be built and planted.
Trees as 'scale transition' from the multiple building to the indiviual.
Beauty by definition is the evident harmonious relationship of all sensed components.
- Elimination of incongruous elements.

The carrying capacity of a land-water area is the population or level of activity that can be sustained for a given length of time without depletion of the resources or breakdown of the biological (natural) systems.
Walls provide- enclosure, separation of areas, security, visual screen, radiation, support (for roof, village, arbor, benches, lamps etc.)
View is a scene observed from a fine vantage point. A view is a theme that may suggest and give added meaning to will related functions.
